LVDT Core Connecting Rods

Core rod material must be non-magnetic, preferably 300 series (18-8) stainless steel. Thread 18-8 stainless steel socket set screw (SS) into tapped hole “TT” with Loctite; Then thread set screw projecting from core rod assembly into LVDT core. All dimensions in inches; ext. threads are class 2A; int. threads are class 2B connection / adjustment length “LL” is selected to suit the LVDT installation.

Minimum unthreaded rod length “L” is derived from the formula below:

L=N+R-C/2

Where: N is null point of the LVDT from its data sheet or table below R is the range of the LVDT depicted in its model number D is the length of the LVDT core from its data sheet H is the length of the LVDT case from its data sheet.

Diameter “D”, Threads “T” and “TT”, and Null Point “N” are from the table below.
